We are now at the end of StarFall’s prehistory. I went over Westport and Belcroft. Last week, I did mention that I deleted Belcroft. That is true, but I only kept Belcroft up until late June. You will see more about the transition between Belcroft and StarFall. You will also see how I planned StarFall before I got my 3DS XL.
I didn’t think about starting a new town until January 2014, but I officially came up with the idea at the end of May. In fact, at the beginning, I was thinking about having two towns. One was going to be an all girls town while the other was going to be an all boys town. One of the two towns was going to be called StarFall as the other was going to be VeloCity. The first one was a combination of the fall theme and the sci-fi theme as the other was named after a term in physics, velocity, but only as a pun name.
The all-girls town was going to be called StarFall. My character names in mind were Kaylee, Jenny, Penny, and Holly. Kaylee’s house was going to be a space themed house, Jenny’s was going to be a fall themed house, Penny’s was going to be winter-themed, and Holly was going to have a regular house. The other town, VeloCity, was going to have only boys, with the names of Hawk, Kenny, Lenny, and Turtle. Hawk’s house was going to be a luxurious house, Kenny’s was going to be a restaurant, Lenny’s was going to be a hotel, and Turtle was going to have a Zen house. StarFall was going to be a modern themed town with illuminated projects as VeloCity was going to be a regular town with a huge park. But fate had different plans. I could only do one town. I could run the all-boys town, but I think the girls are prettier, so I decided to do only StarFall. And then, when I learned about the reset villager trick, I realized that I can have only have three characters. So what remains were Kaylee, Jenny, and Penny.
When I was thinking about what museum donations to make, I would have Kaylee do all of the fossils. She can also catch both the insects and the water creatures. Picking between Jenny and Penny, whoever owns the fall house must exclusively catch insects so the crickets can be in the forest room as fish can be stored in the cabin room of the winter house. I later decided that Jenny was going to be the bug hunter as Penny is the fisher. And since I can have only three characters, Kaylee, Jenny, and Penny had the equal share of art donations.
The first time I thought of deleting my town of Belcroft was after I got 100 million Bells for the second time. Due to my dying 3DS and dream town inspirations, having a new town is what I needed. The first thing I did was that I took out all the items I was going to transfer to StarFall before I delete the other characters. My last three characters were deleted, leaving Kaylee on her own again. The first step in planning was deciding character design. I planned on having three girls with the same eye shape. As for the hair coloring, Kaylee would still keep her brown hair and brown eyes.
Yep, in all three of my towns, Kaylee had the same hairstyle and hair color all along. The four leaf clover wasn’t there until late in Westport. Since they were all going to have the same eyes and hairstyle, I had to recolor Kaylee’s from Belcroft to give me a sneak peek of what the characters were going to look like, including…
The reason why I wanted to keep those eyes were because they were the best one in the game, not that I’m too lazy to find the eyes I wanted. I also decided on what clothes for the girls to wear. Kaylee was going to keep the schoolgirl outfit she had in late Belcroft.
I also liked the pro-design dress I made for her back in Westport, so that was going to be remade in StarFall as well.
Sorry if I don’t have any pictures of what she actually looked like back in Westport, but these were part of StarFall too. I had ideas for the paths as well.
Now onto the items history. For the first two weeks of June, I was trying to gather items from the Creepy Theme, Ice Series, Mush Series, Ski Theme, and Snowman Series. The Snowman Series was too hard to the point I had to get it from some other members online. But the others I was able to get. The balloons were also something I needed to get online. I had some other handicaps as well. One was that I had to order all of the orderable furniture, carpets, and wallpaper so I can have the Kaylee from StarFall catalog them to help get her badges. I also had to get the Saharah carpets and legit works of art from Redd (all 33 of them) before creating the town of StarFall so I don’t have to time travel back and fort for a real work of art. Along with the orderable items, I bought everything GracieGrace sold so I don’t have to worry about cataloging for GracieGrace items in other towns. One of my plans was to never have the Emporium expansion of the Nooklings.
After picking up all the Ski items and Snowtyke items, I had no more items to gather, so I was ready to create StarFall. The first layout I had was bad, but the second layout was great. Either way, I got cherry trees, which I wanted to be my town fruit.
Two Town Era
On June 18th, 2014, StarFall was finally created. I was even journalizing and had Jenny and Penny, but Belcroft was still up. I did not want to delete my town until I got all what I needed. My focuses as I had Belcroft were cataloging, weeding, and train station visits so I can have the Train Station renovation PWP unlocked. Even if I do have StarFall working well, I still needed to use Belcroft for all of my goals.
When I got the Train Station renovation project unlocked, it was time for me to delete Belcroft. My town of StarFall was fully prepared, but there was a lot of work that was needed to be done. For the next 15 weeks, I will explain what I did that built up to my town every Tuesday. At the same time, Belcroft was deleted, and my old 3DS was done.
And that concludes the prehistory of StarFall. I could talk about my experience in past games, but that was so long that I can’t even rememer as this has nothing to do with my town of StarFall. Next Tuesday, the history of StarFall will begin.
